  • Models for reflection

    Reflective practice is an ongoing process through which one analyses their own performance with a view towards constant improvement and growth. The Royal College of Surgeons recommends Driscoll's model for reflection, as it allows a pathway for transformative behavioural changes by impressing three simple questions upon the practitioner: "What?", "So What?" and "Now What?" The model is outlined in detail in the below resources, which include a PDF with prompts for guiding reflective practice, as well as a thorough video discussion of the Driscoll model's methodology and applicability with Tim Terry, professor of urology and Royal College of Surgeons Council member.
